About the DETSI Stakeholder Database
The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) works with leaders, experts and organisations across Queensland to support informed decision-making, stakeholder engagement and effective delivery of government priorities.
The Stakeholder Database helps DETSI identify and engage with stakeholders who have an interest in, or may be affected by, departmental policies, programs, services and initiatives. Maintaining stakeholder relationships and undertaking consultation and engagement activities supports DETSI in carrying out its functions and responsibilities on behalf of the Queensland Government.
Participation in the Stakeholder Database is voluntary. You are not required to provide your information and you may withdraw your consent at any time.
What information do we collect?
With your consent, DETSI may collect:
- your name
- position title
- organisation
- email address
- other business contact information that you choose to provide.
Where possible, generic contact details may be used instead of personal contact details.
For example:
- CEO
- Chair
- ceo@organisation.com.au
Why do we collect this information?
We collect this information so we can:
- maintain an ongoing relationship with you and your organisation
- coordinate meetings, consultations, forums, roundtables and events
- invite you to Director-General, Deputy Director-General and Ministerial engagement activities
- distribute stakeholder communications and updates
- maintain records of stakeholder engagement activities
- support coordinated stakeholder engagement across Queensland Government where relevant.
Who may access your information?
Your information will be stored in secure Queensland Government systems.
Access is restricted to authorised officers who require access to undertake stakeholder engagement and related functions.
Who might we share your information with?
Where reasonably necessary for stakeholder engagement activities, consultation processes, events, policy development or government priorities, your information may be shared with authorised officers in other Queensland Government departments who have a legitimate business need to access the information. Your information will not be disclosed outside government unless authorised or required by law.
How long will we keep your information?
Your details will be stored in the DETSI Stakeholder Database while they remain relevant for stakeholder engagement purposes.
DETSI regularly reviews stakeholder records to ensure information remains accurate, current and necessary.
Information that is no longer required will be removed in accordance with Queensland Government recordkeeping and privacy requirements.
Your choices
You can:
- choose not to participate
- withdraw your consent at any time
- request access to your information
- request correction of your information
- request removal from the Stakeholder Database.
