Brody: Privileged to be experiencing this, like having a chance to come and work with the marine parks for six months, yeah, I was, it was a real big thing for me.
Usop: If you’re into being on country, wilderness, the animals and the sea and all that. It that’s something you’re interested in then it’s a good opportunity to do it, get paid to do it and try and get the rest of the family involved as well, yeah all sort of working towards a common goal.
I do like the little trips to the Islands here, our islands are the Franklands Islands, the North and South Barnards, and being able to explore them and being able to work on them. I did some bird surveys on the Island. We do maintenance to keep the Island safe for visitors. On our compliance run, we see how the rangers go about their compliances so everybody is willing to help you out and give you advice if you’ve got any questions, they can answer them, they’re happy to help you with that, yeah it enables me to be more in tune with our heritage.
Brody: Recent trip went out on the coral sea, went out to the Lihou reef and the Diamond Islets, did a bit of beach clean up with Tangaroa Blue. That was awesome aye. Now I’ve learned a few good stuff along the way since I was here like going along the leadership workshops and stuff. Yeah that was really great and yeah just getting my dive tickets and some of my machinery tickets. If ever you get the chance to do, just do it, don’t wait around just do it.
