A seasonal closure has been applied to four locations in the northern Great Barrier Reef (Woody Island, and the beaches adjoining Taylor Cay, Sisters Island and Eagle Island).

This notice is published pursuant to section 81 of the Marine Parks (Great Barrier Reef Coast) Zoning Plan 2004.

Access to the following locations is prohibited during the seasonal closure periods identified:

The beach adjoining Taylor Cay on Taylor Reef (17-064) from 29 September 2025 to 1 March 2026
The beach adjoining Sisters Island on South Barnard Islands (17-046) from 29 September 2025 to 1 March 2026
The beach adjoining Eagle Island at Eyrie Reef (14-118) from 1 October 2025 to 1 April 2026

During the closure period, access to these locations and airspace up to 500ft above the ground or water is prohibited unless authorised.
