The application proposes a pilot CSG exploration and drainage program to occur on ML1790.
13 vertical and 10 lateral wells are proposed with a total disturbance area of 12ha, comprised of 11.80ha associated with drill pads and 0.2ha associated with access tracks. The pilot is understood to be a 2 year project, with the layout finalised by end of 2025.
The purpose of the project is to target the Goonyella Middle Seam and ascertain the presence, quantity and quality of CSG, and assess the geological and petrophysical properties of the coal seam. -

The project would extract up to 11 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of run-of-mine (ROM) coal which equates to 8.6 Mtpa of primarily metallurgical coal product for export markets over approximately 20 years. The project area would be approximately 5,644 hectares covered by Mineral Development Licence (MDL) 182 and existing approved mining leases (ML) 70301, ML 70481 and ML 1987.

This page provides documentation and instructions for submissions regarding the new draft Code of practice for the release of stored water from privately owned farm storages to receiving waters in the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin (Store and Release Code of Practice).
Key changes in the new draft Store and Release Code of Practice include simplifying monitoring requirements and updating best management practice measures. The draft Store and Release Code of Practice is accompanied by the Explanatory Guide: To support consultation on the draft code of practice for the release of stored water from privately owned farm storages to receiving waters in the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin 2024-31.
Following the public consultation period and consideration of submissions, the new draft Store and Release Code of Practice will be considered for gazettal under the Environmental Protection Act 1994 by the Minister for the Environment and the Great Barrier Reef and Minister for Science and Innovation. If gazetted, the new draft Store and Release Code of Practice and its accompanying explanatory guide will replace the previous version that expired on 17 December 2023. -

The Department of Environment and Science is undertaking an aerial baiting program over a one-day period between 26 October and 23 November 2023. Sodium Fluoroacetate (1080) meat baits will be used to control feral pigs on Conway National Park (Lot 43 on NPW1144 and Lot 1 on NPW1145), Dryander National Park (Lot 24 on AP19346), Dryander State Forest (Lot 432 on AP19346) and Dryander Forest Reserve (Lot 5 on AP19346). Dogs and other domestic animals are not permitted within the protected areas. Steps must be taken to ensure domestic dogs do not gain access to the 1080 baits or poisoned animals. Neighbours should restrain dogs and other domestic animals during baiting programs.

Dogs and other domestic animals are not permitted within the protected areas. Steps must be taken to ensure domestic dogs do not gain access to the 1080 baits or poisoned animals. Neighbours should restrain dogs and other domestic animals during baiting programs.
