Diversity of perspectives

We've got a very diverse workforce.

Everyone's got a different idea brought up in a different way.

It's not a single train of thought to achieve the outcomes that we're working on.

That diversity brings in different thoughts and every day you kind of go, I didn't think about that or I didn't consider that.

My team are hilarious, They're brilliant, they're really, really supportive.

There is so much knowledge within my team.

I hadn't had that experience of working within World Heritage previously, so the fact that they were able to just share all of that information with me made me feel welcome, help me with my confidence moving forward and now I feel quite confident within my role because of all the support they've given me.

We're so lucky to work right across the department and we have that opportunity to really collaborate with people from such a diverse background, both from their professional experience but also their personal backgrounds, and I think that shapes better outcomes for Queenslanders.

I live on the Gold Coast but I commute to Brisbane.

The department actually runs the wave bouys off the coast, so I check the wave bouys every morning.

You can definitely surf, run, take your dog, get a coffee before work.

I've found that I've really slotted in even though I don't necessarily have what I would have assumed would have been the background you would have needed to be within one of these roles.

There are so many opportunities within the Department that there are far more positions than you would initially think you might be suitable for.
