Great Barrier Reef Education Experience Program

The Great Barrier Reef Education Experience Program provides a subsidy to primary and secondary school students and registered home educators in Queensland.

Outback Queensland Education Experience Program

The program encourages teachers and home educators to take their students to Outback Queensland and integrate its rich history and heritage into school learning.

Subsidies of up to $150 are available to students to take part in the Great Barrier Reef Education Experience Program and the Outback Queensland Education Experience Program.

First-hand experience helps reinforce learning. Queensland’s natural attractions offer students a unique opportunity to learn about the State’s biodiversity, history and heritage in real-world settings.

For schools, an excursion must be aligned to the Australian and Queensland school curriculum and for registered home educators, an excursion must be supporting your approved learning plan.

The Education Experience Program is an initiative supporting delivery of Destination 2045, the Queensland Government’s 20‑year plan for delivering Queensland’s tourism future and positioning the state as a global tourism leader.
